I've spent a fabulous all day yesterday and this morning with [livejournal.com profile] mirrored_echo, knocking about Park Street. Together, we learned that Macy's prices have gone up beyond the pale (though she managed to find a red dress that was both very pretty and reasonably priced. Dress envy!) We also had dinner at the Thai place in Belmont I'm forgetting the name of - and that's a shame, because the food was mighty tasty and the portions just right.

Then, I woke up this morning with unholy cramps, so bad I had to miss today's physical therapy. Guess you have to take the bad with the good. Either way, I think I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the week. Do some reading; gather energy for The Phoenix Flap on Saturday; chill out in general.

Speaking of chilling out - I feel like I've guzzled a gallon of iced tea today alone. So hot and thirsty! ...I think I need more iced tea.

Patou?

If that's the restaurant, I concur. Excellent food. They have a habit of using meat and meat broth in food that otherwise seems vegetarian, so it's not safe for people who are unable to digest meat.

I should drag the office out to lunch there again sometime soon. It's been a while since we all trooped up to town together to intimidate the waitstaff.

Yes! That's the one.

Ack on the meat front, though. My dining companion is vegan. She seemed ok, but... Well, I'm pretty sure there was no reason for them to have put meat in the vegie tempura - which I also sampled. Not sure about her entree. All I remember about it is the tofu.

Mwahaha! Poor waitstaff. Albeit not as poor as the folks at Kashish - the nearby Indian restaurant - who got to listen to [livejournal.com profile] nevacaruso and I speculate on the love lives of fictional characters. It was a slow day, so the staff must have heard everything.

Oh, my. You and your dining companions are certainly more entertaining than my entire office area (all 10 of us!) The folks at Kashish only look annoyed at us when we show up, even though I try to incorporate decent tips when calculating the final damage. :)

I've not had the veggie tempura, and neither has [livejournal.com profile] akycha, who is the usual canary in the coal mine when it comes to restaurant practices, but I expect that it would be difficult to incorporate meat into that particular item. I took Akycha there once, early in my Belmont career, and she came out with meat poisoning after having one of the curries, IIRC. I know that the masaman curry has a chicken base to the sauce, even when it's made with tofu. Fortunately, I am meat-tolerant, since I'm very fond of masaman curry. My wife, however, is not, so I have never taken her back. It is fortunate that I have sufficiently educated my coworkers in the joys of ethnic foodery.

Strange. One would think restaurants prefer professional, albeit large, office groups, over certain fangirl doom.

Eep. Meat poisoning sounds like it would really suck. I'm sorry to hear that.

I usually don't physically notice meat broth (which is...probably a good thing, although hearing about it later is a bit squicky). Cheese or actual chunks of meat are a bit different. If we go there again, I might ask. It was quite good, though! ^_^

I'm glad you liked. ^_^ But yeah, asking sounds like an excellent future plan.
