Much belated this week, as I was still mostly dead on Monday, and had a pointless doctor's appointment of pointlessness on Tuesday. Rar.

Physical: Had appointment. It was pointless.

In other news, Mary, my physical therapist, is going on a medical leave of her own, which means I'll have to finish out the summer with someone else. Bugger.

In other other news, my lower back has been killing me in the last few days. I don't know why, as I haven't done anything that might fuck with it. I really wish health insurance covered massages.

Spiritual: I now know I'm on friendly terms with the air element; I wouldn't have made it all the way through Blogathon, if not for a much-welcomed air-energy infusion from [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard. That was nice~

Emotional: Going through a bit of...not introvert shock so much, but overwhelmedness? avoidance of things requiring coherent thought and/or commitment? Whichever. I'll give it a couple of days and it'll pass. It always does.

Blogathon: I win! I did it! Thanks to you all (including newest donor, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong!), I've managed to raise $210.

Meanwhile, I have yet to receive my Blogathon e-mail, which would direct me through the actual donation process. Is this true for everyone?

Currently reading: Back to Paladin of Souls, which I wound up putting aside, once I got my grubby paws on Deathly Hallows.

Currently watching: Re-watched Nightmare Before Christmas just yesterday. Not quite as good as I remembered, but entertaining.

Currently listening to: Soundtrack to Chess.

Currently wondering: Why a part of me wants to be drawn into the Harry Potter fandom. I'm getting fic bunnies. Hell, I'm even re-reading old RP logs. I'm a sad, sad person. This is also the part of my brain that wonders what would happen if you took the Corpus Delicti game concept and made it Deathly Hallows compatible (well, most of Deathly Hallows). My fanbrain is just not allowed to talk anymore.

KoL: Started the Level 12 Quest. Haven't had the chance to play much yet.

BPAL: My lab order has arrived. With it, I also got Tetzcatlipoca, Somnus and Blood Amber frimps. Real reviews will come later. First mini-impressions under cut )

Physical: My legs are under the assumption they belong to Nymphadora Tonks. That makes the seventh time I tripped over air today. Aiii.

Emotional: Pleasant side effect of staying up all night? All emotions get heightened to the n-th degree. It's like PMS, but without the cramps. Strangely, I can live with that.

Blogathon: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mirrored_echo, I'm now up to $105. Thank you!

Currently reading: Gee, I wonder what book I may have just finished last night...

Theories I was right about, regarding said book - and other spoilers )

Currently watching: I've re-downloaded the Tsubasa anime, which I lost in the Great Laptop Crash of '06 and am watching it again. Shiny multiverse goodness!

Currently listening to: Jonatha Brooke, Prodigal Daughter.

KoL: I've mastered the level 11 quest. Now I level up. Six mysticality to go...

Writing: Hello, writer's block. How have you been doing? >.

Yes, these babies are a weekly occurence. Why Mondays? Cause I said so.

Physical: Body's still kind of achy, rebellious and going 'does not want' at food, but I swear it's getting better. In slow increments. I can't tell how much of the achy tired feeling is from the illness, and how much from the introvert shock.

Organizational: I've got unanswered e-mails over a week old. I fail. They will be gotten to, but I still fail.

Blogathon: In much better news, I got sponsored. For $100! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] nursemae! I'm...a little sleechless right now.

Again, if any of you on my friendslist are willing and able to sponsor a Blogathon participant, I urge you to do so. There are some wonderful causes out there, and some wonderful writers as well.

Currently reading: Paladin of Souls, by Lois McMaster Bujold, and XxxHolic vol.4.

Currently watching: Nothing, but for once NOT FOR LACK OF LAPTOP. Squee! I'll also be going to see the new Harry Potter movie with [livejournal.com profile] mirrored_echo (and possibly others.) Sooo...how much is it going to make me want to choke a bitch?

That's actually a rhetorical question. It's something I'd rather find out on my own. All I know in advance is that Tonks' actress is significantly hot.

KoL: I'm being a slow bum, but I have begun the Level 11 quest. With all the adventures I've got piled up, it shouldn't be any trouble to blow through a fair chunk of it, once I've got the time and energy.

BPAL: No reviews at the moment, but I'll be making a lab order real soon. Definitely a bottle of Glasgow, and I think a set of imps as well. These imps, in particular:

Persephone
Katharina
Baobhan Sith
Aizen-Myoo
Rosalind
Vinland

Thoughts?

Physical: I've had to wear a hand splint to bed lately, but it's actually not as uncomfortable as it sounds and it helps a lot. It's getting re-molded on Thursday, though, so we'll see how that goes.

Emotional: Weekend with friends v. good for sanity. Hoo boy, I had no idea how much I needed that. I love my shiny people~

Currently reading: Finished Kushiel's Justice last night. 700 pages in two days - go me! Or, more accurately, go Jacqueline Carey for engaging my attention. Currently re-reading The Last Unicorn, by Peter S. Beagle - an old favorite that's just as good now as it was years ago. Hmm... I should see if the library has the movie. I haven't seen that in a while either.

Currently watching: Saw Battlefield again on Saturday with the Who people. Shiny cracky goodness. Next up is Genesis of the Daleks, correct?

And before that, I get to introduce [livejournal.com profile] mirrored_echo to Babylon 5. Squee!

Computer: Any day now. Could be today, even, though I'm really not that lucky.

Games: Phoenix Flap is this coming Saturday. Yay! I'm getting costuming help from the awesome [livejournal.com profile] nevacaruso and her parents' Time Lord wardrobe, which is even more yay.

Meanwhile, the Project Diana bluesheets make me very, very squeeful.

KoL: Playing around in Spokyraven Manor and the Worm Wood, having finished my Level 10 quest. I could have just quickly leveled up my stats at the Hidden Temple and started on Level 11, but that's no fun! This way, I get to explore areas I didn't get around to in my last ascension.

Chips and potions still the most useful thing invented since sliced cheese.

BPAL Reviews: Baghdad and Vinland )

Ehehehe... [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard, [livejournal.com profile] yunatwilight, I may be cleaning you out of your room scents, permission pending. The above two, plus Prague. Sorry about that. ^_^;

Physical
I've actually gotten enough sleep in the last couple of days (thanks to, I have a feeling, the cat sleeping with me). So I may be heading into another 'stay up all night' cycle, but at least I'm well-rested. Mama loves her baby kitty!

Spiritual )

Currently reading: Ethan of Athos, by Lois McMaster Bujold, having finished Cetaganda last night. Still on a Clamp kick with manga, so I'll be picking up volume one of Legal Drug at the library today.

Currently watching: At home, nothing. However, I still have my Doctor Who watching group for the weekends. We'll be heading into the classic series, now that the current season is done. From the looks of it, we'll be starting with Battlefield. Yay Ace!

Currently listening to going insane from: lack of music. Seriously. Gah!

Computer: Still no concrete date for when my laptop will be here. *muttermuttermutter* Apparently all the extras I asked for are taking time to add on.

Writing: Going through old RP logs which contain the roots for one of my original novel ideas has helped kick that novel into high gear. It's also filled me with a deep and abiding sense of shame regarding my writing and chracterization abilities at age sixteen. Let's just say I once comitted a Gwen Cooper and leave it at that.

Additionally, I've got some vague ideas for who fic, and whaddaya know - one for Heroes.

KoL: Mushrooms take way too long to grow, yo! Fighting the spelling attrocity creatures at Orc Chasm is still surprisingly therapeutic, though.

BPAL Review: Bewitched )

In the news: New Hampshire appeals the aborton law that would require parental notification. I'm very happy to hear it. Laws like this damage parent-child communication rather than helping it, by taking away the choice in the matter. They also don't account for emergencies and may put the teen in question at risk. All in all, go New Hampshire!

Correspondently: I'm doing some research into Planned Parenthood internships. It would be a lovely place to spend my Field Work Term next winter, provided they take me and I can arrange transportation.
mllelaurel: (Default)
Holy geez it's hot! I'm so not setting foot outside my nice, air-conditioned room. A bum is me! It's also far too hot to eat any real food, so I've been subsisting on cheesy crackers, blueberries and ice-cream. I kind of like this fare. Y'know, until I get thoroughly sick of it.

Currently reading: Cetaganda, by Lois McMaster Bujold; Tsubasa manga volume three. Guh on both counts.

Currently watching: Nada. :( This computer won't play anything, won't connect to my external harddrive and has a tendency to eat CDs.

Currently listening to: Nada. :( See above.

Days till my new laptop gets here: Too damn long. For the record, this one's another Dell PC. Mom and I took a look at the prices, and there's no way I can afford a decent Mac right now. On the plus side, it'll have a four year warranty, so if anything goes wrong, they'll brave the depths of Vermont to come fix it and make me happy again.

Writing: Actually progressing. It's all original work, though. I haven't been getting many fic bunnies lately, though if the DW finale is as good as The Sound of Drums was, that may change.

Crack-ass theories regarding said finale: Recorded here as proof that I actually had them, on the off chance I could be right. Whee spoilers )

KoL: *muttermutter* fucking expensive polka-dot bowtie *muttermutter* But at least I have the bugger. Now, I wait for rollover, then vent my frustration on some clowns. Also, note to self: start growing mushrooms tonight.

BPAL Smellies: Tried the other two Atropa's Cottage scents - Gondor and Elbereth - and they both gave me the same chemical floral soapy yuck in the imps. Didn't try them on skin, as I like smelling nice. Still no way for me to tell what's in them. Merf.

And now, I'm out of smellies to review. This is very sad.

I should probably move along the imps I disliked or was 'meh' on. Any of you have a particular craving for any of these?

New Orleans (the jasmine in this hates me)
Morocco x2 (lovely to smell on someone else, but not me)
Ithilien (AC)
Elbereth (AC)
Gondor (AC)

Trades are made of shiny, but if you really want it, you can pretty much have it. If you do want to trade, give me a list of what you're offering, long or short.

On the other hand, I'm 99% certain I'll be getting a bottle of Glasgow. Mom keeps stealing my imp to sniff.

...Dude, imagine if I get my mom hooked on BPAL! Wouldn't that rock?

Random comment on real-world shite: Paris Hilton is out of jail. Whee. She gets to spread the stupid and endanger innocent people once again. I reiterrate - whee.

To counteract the vapidness: I'm thinking of doing Blogathon 2007. The hitch is, I'd feel a little bad, since my entries aren't particularly award-winning. Then again, people would be donating to the good cause, not to get more keyboard mashing out of me. The keyboard mashing is just representative of my commitment (and ability to stay up for twenty-four hours straight.) I have to mull on this some more, which includes picking a charity, but my participation is looking more and more likely.

Traitor's Moon, by Lynn Flewelling )

Barayar, by Lois McMaster Bujold )

In other news, an Ascender is me! Yes, I know it took me a while, but there were a few trophies I had to bag first.

It's very likely I got more of a kick out of defeating the Naughty Sorceress than I should have, but considering she managed to kick my ass twice before I kicked hers, it's understandable.

In other other news, I want my own, smaller keyboard back. I swear, I made more typos in this post than there are words. Heck, I probably missed a few. Sigh.
