Despite my being spoiled for Garibaldi's fate this season, this episode still packed one hell of a punch. Partly, this is due to the strong story - spoiled or not; partly to the direction, which was gorgeous. Sheridan's capture and Bester's revelation to Garibaldi were especially stunning.
I can't help thinking, though, how this episode would have been even stronger if Sinclair was still around. Having Garibaldi betray Sheridan hurts, but having him betray Sinclair would have been heartwrenching beyond all recall. Sheridan is Garibaldi's friend, but I didn't get the impression of the same closeness and love I saw with him and Sinclair in season one (and War Without End).
Of course, I'm not sure Garibaldi would have survived betraying Sinclair with his sanity intact - or that I would have been able to watch while he did so. The ouch factor is damn high as it is.
